Pine Wood Derby Updates

Pinewood Derby Volunteers – Call To ActionThe Derby is just over a month away and it’s time to lock down some of the logistics. Below is some of the tasks that I need someone to take the lead on and a list of those who have volunteered thus far. Please send an email to pulioffc@gmail.com stating that you will take the lead on the identified task and I will coordinate directly with you moving forward on what needs to be done.

Volunteer Tasks:

1) Church and Awanas Coordinator (Food and Church Schedule): Currently Lloyd has taken this on but could use some help ensuring everything runs smoothly with the church and enough food is being provided by the Awanas. Please let me know soon if you can take the lead on this task.

2) Workshop Lead: This person will prepare the church for the Jan 14 workshop and ensure we have tools and graphite available, as well as recruit more volunteers. Right now I have Dave Larson and Shannon Squires signed up to support. I need one of them to take point. I have some volunteers from my office that can help, however, I would like to get more volunteers from the pack.

3) Weigh in team: Shane and I will be very busy with track setup and database entry. I need one of the following volunteers to take point on the weigh in logistics and to keep the entries organized. The rest of the team needs to be at the church at 5:30pm on Jan.27th to get instruction. I have the following people signed up for that team. Kirstin Pulioff, Tristan W., Jeff George, Dave Larson, Gary Mannino, and Craig Lean.

4) Set up and decorations team: This team needs to arrive at 5:30pm on Jan.27th to get instructions. I have the following people signed up for this team Rob Hood, Marianne Hislop, Katie Shiffers, Chris Plomondon.

5) Race day team: Pete Shiffers and Matt Dickson are running point on this team. They will have the Troop 737 Scouts supporting them. Mike Haydon, I have you down for supporting this team. If you can, please arrive a little early to get instruction from Pete and Matt.

6) Post Race Cleanup: Everyone is a volunteer so please plan to stay around after to help us clean up quickly.

Important Dates and Times:

Derby Workshop: Saturday, Jan 14th, from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Aspen Ridge Church

Mandatory Weigh-in: Friday, Jan 27th, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Aspen Ridge Church (upstairs)

Derby Race Day: Saturday, Jan 28th from 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM at Aspen Ridge Church (upstairs)
