September’s Pack Meeting

At tomorrow’s Pack Meeting we will perform the symbolic Bobcat Ceremony for our new scouts. These scouts have been busy learning the scout oath, law, sign, handshake, and motto. After the ceremony, each den will finalize their den flags.

POPCORN!!!!

We are doing very well with our popcorn sales – only three weeks in and we’ve sold over $13,000 in Show & Sell sales so far … keep up the great work!! The proceeds that our Pack earns from popcorn sales help us pay for things like handbooks, patches/awards, Pack Meeting entertainment, prizes, etc. Our pack goal is $20,000. If your scout reaches $600 in sales, their Pack dues will be $0.00 when re-charter comes around! Plus, the kids can earn terrific prizes!!!

Here are the current status of sales (Show and Sells) by Den:

Bears $3677.50 Webelos $3175 Wolves $3640 Tigers $1927.50 Arrow of Light $695

Fantastic job by everyone, it’s a very tight race at the top right now. Please keep in mind that these numbers reflect show and sells only. We still have the take order forms and online sales that will factor in to the den competition.

There’s only two spots left for Show and Sell Sign-ups. If you are available on Oct. 8th, 12-2, sign up now!!! Popcorn Sign-ups

Important Upcoming Popcorn Dates:

1. Take Order Forms are due to John Hansen by Oct 15th (either paper form which I will give back or preferably email to hansenc40@aol.com or text to 303-520-3826

2. Take order popcorn will be available for pickup at Jens house towards the end of the first week of November.

3. All money from take order due to John Hansen by Nov 30th

Info on prize ordering, etc. will be put out towards the end of October once all popcorn sales have been tall

Please remind your boys that not only are they guests of these businesses while they are there, but they represent the Pack as a whole and need to be on their best behavior.

Pack Secretary & Event Coordinator Positions Available

If you’re looking for a special way to get involved with scouts… we currently have openings for a Pack Secretary and Event Coordinator. If you are interested in more details about either of these positions, please talk to Lloyd Kitchner for more details. We’d love to have you on our leadership team!

University of Scouting!

Registration is now open!! Every year, BSA hosts a full day training event called the University of Scouting. This year, it will be held on October 29th from 7am - 5pm at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bldg., in Highlands Ranch. This is a terrific opportunity for leaders - as well as any adult - to receive training on a wide variety of Scout related topics, such as outdoor cooking, Den discipline, Den games, knot tying, outdoor leadership training, and SO much more. If you are interested in attending, visit this link.

October’s Pack Meeting

At our October Pack Meeting (Oct 25), we will have our annual carved pumpkin contest! Please bring an already decorated and/or carved pumpkin to the meeting! (no guns or weapons in your decorations, please). Judging categories will be announced closer to the meeting. Siblings are welcome to participate and will be in a separate class of their own.

Corn Maze Activity

It’s time for a Pack outing! Please join us Saturday, October 15th for an outing to the Corn Maze. More details to come, but be assured it will be fun and memorable for all our scouts. Scouts admission will be FREE!

2016 Timberline, Frontier& Venturing Fall Shooting Sports Camporee Registration

Timberline District Shooting Sports Camporee features activities for Cubs, Webelos, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts. Scouts will be able to learn about gun safety while having the opportunity to shoot rifles, shotguns, black powder guns and archery. This is an optional district-wide event that will run from 9/30 to 10/2. Click here for details!

Class A Uniforms

Remember that your Scouts can wear their Class A uniforms to school on days when they will be meeting as a Den or a Pack. This helps show pride in the Scouting organization, and helps other kids gain interest. Please be sure your Scout wears his uniform properly. This means the shirt should be clean, ironed and tucked in. To help them understand why this is important, perhaps you can draw an analogy of what their thoughts might be if .they were to see a police officer with his/her uniform shirt untucked. Or a business man (perhaps even their dad) going to a business meeting with his dress shirt untucked. Encourage them to proudly wear their Scout uniform and positively represent our Pack!

Class B Uniforms & Pack 39 Patches

Class B shirts will be available at Pack Meetings for $15 each. We have an assortment of kids and adult sizes. We received a new shipment of small and medium sizes! In addition, we have exclusive "Pack 39" patches for $3 each. Please see a Den Leader or our Treasurer (Ellen Williams) at the next Pack meeting if you'd like to purchase any of these items.

If you purchased a Class B t-shirt that was the wrong size, you may exchange it (if not previously worn or washed) at the next meeting.
