Aspen Ridge "RidgeFest" Event We are looking for a couple more volunteers to work our booth at Aspen Ridge's annual RidgeFest event on Saturday, September 26th from 11am - 3pm. This would involve supervising the Knock-Hockey box as well as mingling/talking with parents about our Pack! If you are interested in helping, please reply to this email. And even if you're not interested in helping at our booth, I encourage you to stop by this event as there is a lot for the kids to do. See the attached flyer for more information.

Popcorn Update

This is the only time we push to raise money throughout the Scouting year, so popcorn sales are vitally important to our Pack. As you know, we are working to get our Show & Sell shifts all filled. Please use the link below to take a vacant spot. If you find that you have to cancel within 24 hours of your shift, it would be helpful if you could call one of the Kernels to let them know. Remember, by meeting your $600 sales goal (which is easy to do with just 2-3 show & sell shifts), you will not have to pay Pack dues come February. Plus, the boys will earn all sorts of cool prizes - refer to the handouts that were included in your popcorn packet for all the nitty-gritty. Some examples of the great upper level prizes include a rocket ($650), a Bronco's Experience ($1,000), a $50 Walmart gift card ($1,500), and even college funds ($2,500)! Please also note that the order forms are due on October 4th, but the money is not due until November 17th. Refer to our website for more information - INCLUDING a current status of sales by Den (the Bears are ROCKIN' IT!!).

Please call John Hansen at 303-520-3826 or Jen Allbritton at 303-513-3733 the day before your sale to arrange popcorn and supply pickup.

Camporee

Camporee is this weekend! Any of our Scouts can go, but the local Boy Scout Troop 737 has invited any of our Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts to attend with them. Please contact Ash Thorne if you are interested in attending with them.

From district: "Mark your calendars, pull out the party horns and get ready for a weekend of excitement as you join 5,000 Scouts and family members. The Camporee is so big it only happens every four years and you don't want to miss it! The 2015 Council Camporee is open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and ExplorerScouts. Webelos who are staying with a troop can camp for the entire weekend event. Their families are welcome to join them on Saturday the 19th. Day visitors are welcome all day Saturday. Everyone must register ahead of time. And don’t forget! We’ll attempt to break a Guinness World Record by popping bubble-wrap!"

Annual Corn Maze

Every year, we try to have a Pack outing to a corn maze, or something similar. We are looking for an individual to do some research on area corn mazes (or other fun fall events) that we can put on our Pack calendar. If you would like to help us out in this, please reply.

Youth Protection Training

It is recommended for any adult within the Pack to take this training, but ALL of our Leaders and volunteers are required to have a valid Youth Protection Training (YPT) certificate every 2 years. This training is super easy to take - just 30 minutes online at your convenience. Visit this link to take yours, and then forward your certificate to me at the end so I can log your completion.

University of Scouting

Every year, BSA hosts a full day training event called the University of Scouting. This year, it will be held on October 24th from 7:30am - 4:00pm. This is a terrific opportunity for leaders - as well as any adult - to receive training on a wide variety of Scout related topics, such as outdoor cooking, Den discipline, Den games, knot tying, outdoor leadership training, and SO much more. If you are interested in attending, visit this link. More information will be provided as it gets closer.

Career Night

We are tossing around the idea of having a Career Night at one of our Pack Meetings. If you have a particularly exciting job and would be interested in sharing some details with our Scouts at an upcoming Pack Meeting (5-7 minute presentation), please reply and let me know!

Leaders Meetings

Our monthly Leaders Meetings have moved to the 2nd MONDAY of each month (instead of Tuesday). Any adult in the Pack is invited to attend - you do not have to be a Den Leader. Please refer to the Pack calendar for upcoming dates.

Class B Uniforms & Pack 39 Patches

Class B shirts will be available at Pack Meetings for $15 each. We have an assortment of kids and adult sizes - and we're working on re-stocking our youth smalls and mediums. The "Pack News" section has copies of these weekly posts so you can easily find them again. Keep in mind, however, that we are still working to update the Advancement Trails with the new version.
