December Pack MeetingAs in years past, our December Pack Meeting will take place at Elk Run Senior Center in Evergreen where we traditionally call BINGO for their residents. This is always a fun event and the residents love it! Bingo is set for tomorrow evening, December 5th at 6:15 PM. We are working to change the second bingo night from December 19th to December 13th. Confirmation on the next bingo date will be sent as soon as arrangements are finalized.

Air Lift Charity Opportunity

On Sat December 9th, the Scouts and their parents are invited to come down to Signature Flight Support at Centennial Airport to assist in the unloading and organizing of the food and toys to their destination. Scouts and parents should be there at 9am and plan to say until noon or a little later due to the large amount of donations.

On Sun the 10th, Scouts and their parents are again invited to come help with the airlift portion and helping the pilots load the aircraft. This will be a hot ramp, so scouts must be accompanied by a parent due to the number of running aircraft moving around the ramp. We will have a small window with no aircraft movements in which to load the airplanes. If you would like to assist with the aircraft loading portion, please be at Signature Flight Support at Centennial Airport 8am with aircraft departing to their destination at 11am. Please note there will be news media there during the aircraft loading portion.

For safety and security reason parents must stay at the event with their Scouts.

Skate Night 2018

The first den meeting of the 2018 year will be a night of skating on Evergreen Lake. Join us Tuesday, January 2nd at the lake. The date is tentative depending on the lake’s condition. More details to come. Do not miss out on this wonderful event!!!

Derby TimeStart your engines…Our annual Pinewood Derby is coming up F-A-S-T! It will be held on Saturday, January 27th. ALL cars MUST be checked in and weighed on Friday evening, January 26th between 6:00 & 8:00pm. If your car is not checked in during this time, it cannot participate in the race.We will be having a Derby Workshop on Saturday, January 20th at Aspen Ridge Church (downstairs fellowship hall near the windows). If you need assistance completing your car, come on by - there are lots of hands to help. For complete rules and information, be sure to check the Pinewood Derby link on our website.

A volunteer Sign Up Genuis will be sent out soon.

February Recharter

Our annual Recharter happens every year in February. Your den leaders will be sharing with you a spreadsheet that shows the amount your family owes for 2018 dues. These amounts include district dues as well as Pack dues. The maximum amount that anyone will owe is $150 for the year (the only other amount you would owe on top of this is $12 should you choose to subscribe to the Boys Life publication).

Those that met the popcorn selling goal of $650 will not owe anything (unless they want Boys Life). Those that sold SOME popcorn will pay a percentage of the $150. Those that did not sell any popcorn will cover the entire amount.

Youth Protection TrainingWe take our scouts’ safety seriously. True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. It is the mission of Youth Protection volunteers and professionals to work within the Boy Scouts of America to maintain a culture of Youth Protection awareness and safety at the national, regional, area, council, district, and unit levels.More information and links to this training are located HERE.

Class A Uniforms

Remember that your Scouts can wear their Class A uniforms to school on days when they will be meeting as a Den or a Pack. This helps show pride in the Scouting organization, and helps other kids gain interest. Please be sure your Scout wears his uniform properly. This means the shirt should be clean, ironed and tucked in. To help them understand why this is important, perhaps you can draw an analogy of what their thoughts might be if .they were to see a police officer with his/her uniform shirt untucked. Or a business man (perhaps even their dad) going to a business meeting with his dress shirt untucked. Encourage them to proudly wear their Scout uniform and positively represent our Pack!

Class B Uniforms & Pack 39 Patches

Class B shirts will be available at Pack Meetings for $15 each. We have an assortment of kids and adult sizes. In addition, we have exclusive "Pack 39" patches for $3 each. Please see a Den Leader or our Treasurer at the next Pack meeting if you'd like to purchase any of these items.
